Content Description

This collection contains one typed, two page, volume of poetry including three poems written by Lt. "Chick" Rainear during the Second World War. The poems were typed on American Red Cross paper and given to and kept by Alice White, an American Red Cross program director in Italy from 1943 to 1946. The original poems were found among the personal effects of Rainear, a pilot, after he was killed in action.

The poetry were originals and include these three titles:

  • "The Boeyard--North Africa--1943"
  • "Bass and Drompp"
  • "The News"
