Scope and Content
This collection contains pamphlets, newsletters, and feminist publications including
Women's World and
Redstockings, documenting radical feminism in the 1970s.
Pamphlets and newsletters include material by the Red Women's Detachment and the Marxist-Leninist Party on class war, women's
defense, marriage, children, and family and the sexual exploitation of women, as well as a pamphlet by Christian Crusade Publications
on women's liberation, the ERA, and communism.
The collection also includes miscellaneous ephemera related to women's suffrage and equal rights from the early 20th century,
including plank literature for suffrage from Carrie Chapman Catt, a pamphlet by birth control leader Mary Ware Dennett, a
variety of letters related to equal rights and equal pay, and a Women's Clubs of California directory for 1904-1905.
