Scope and Content of Collection

This collection contains selected personal papers from South Bay activist Arion Stone, who was previously known as Rhio Hiersch. These include materials related to the Stanford University Workshops on Political and Social Issues (SWOPSI) and college classes on homosexuality that Stone organized and presented as part of Stanford's student-led course program in the early 1980s. There are also materials from the Stanford AIDS Education Project (AEP); documents from a civil rights lawsuit Stone and Atticus Tysen filed against Boomers, a Redwood City bar; graphics and flyers produced by Stone; subject files; and a smallamount of materials related to Diseased Pariah News (DPN). The collection includes two videotapes -- one has a CNN feature on DPN; the other features a 1996 Bob Beck lecture on electomagnetic cure for AIDS and many other disorders.
