Scope and Content of Collection
Collection of photographs and background documentation related to Station MX in Palo Alto, first built by Federal Telegraph
Company in 1921 as "Marsh Station", later owned by Mackay Radio and ITT Corporation. The photographs appear to have been collected
by several former employees of Federal Telegraph and Mackay Radio, including Fred M. Hoehn, George T. Royden, and Philip C.
Christensen as part of a project to write a history of Station MX. The images include early construction and operation of
the station by Federal Telegraph, a selection of Kolster Radio Compass images, Mackay Radio/KDD installations in Oyama and
Nizaki, Japan, Mackay Radio's Las Pinas station in the Philippines, and several images of the KFS station in Lobitos.
