Description
Scrapbook documents her social activities at Stanford and Berkeley and includes photographs, dance cards, programs, clippings, party favors, notes from students, ticket stubs, and Christmas cards. Of note are items pertaining to the Big Game, the annual football game between Stanford and Berkeley, and a clipping about slang phrases in use by Stanford students (page 21).
Background
Frances Bowker attended Stanford University from 1925 through the spring of 1927; she transferred to UC Berkeley in the Fall of 1927 and finished her a.b. there. In the summer of 1928 she married James P. O'Connor.
