    Universal Pictures is an American motion picture production company founded in 1912. The studio is located in Universal City, California.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    The Universal Pictures Company trailer scripts span the years 1939-1980 and encompass 6.6 linear feet. The collection is composed primarily of scripts for teaser trailers, regular trailers, television spots, radio spots, and featurettes, most of which were produced for the purpose of advertising Universal's feature-length motion pictures. Some 980 motion pictures are represented, including a considerable number released by companies other than Universal, namely Allied Artists, Columbia, Howco International, Interwest, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, RKO Radio Pictures, Regional Film Distributors, United Artists, United Producers Releasing, Warner Bros., and Walt Disney, as well as television programs and made-for- television movies produced for ABC and NBC.
