Description
This collection contains four correspondence written by SP/4 Terry Lee Sloan, USA to Janice Striner during the Vietnam War.
Background
Specialist Fourth Grade Terry Lee Sloan, United States Army lived at some time in Apollo, Pennsylvania where Janice Striner lived during their correspondence. Janice is a friend of SP/4 Sloan's cousin, Sally Ann McCutcheon Jankosky, and at the time was a school age girl writing as a sort of pen pal. Sloan also mentions his wife being a part of the Apollo Legionettes, a drum and bugle corps, when they were going steady. This is in reference to Janice's membership in the Allegheny Township Blazers, a rival corps.
