Abstract: This collection contains miscellaneous documents created by or associated with Frank Cufer (1908-1957) and Rose Cufer (1904-1977).
Frank Cufer (Nov. 8, 1908-Feb. 6, 1957) and Rose Cufer (Apr. 4, 1904-Dec. 15, 1977 were brother and sister, natives of New
York who came to Sonoma County, Calif., along with their brother Rudolph Cufer (born in Brooklyn, New York, June 12, 1900;
died in Santa Rosa, Oct. 12, 1964). Rose moved to California in either 1918 or 1919 and lived in Santa Rosa; the 1940 census
shows she was living at 1249 Humboldt Street with her brothers. She worked as a seamstress and belonged to Saint Rosa Catholic
Church in Santa Rosa. Fose's brother, Frank Cufer, moved to California in 1919. He worked as a gardener and ranch helper.
At the time of his death in Ukiah, Calif. both were living at 620 King Street in Santa Rosa. At the time of Rose's death in
1977, she was living at 741 Slater Street. Rose and Frank Cufer were both buried in Santa Rosa's Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
