Description
This collection is organized into 3 series: Photographs, Correspondence and Surnames. Original order was maintained as closely as possible.
Background
Alura Gough Rogers was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 6, 1896. She was a legal secretary. Her husband, Louis Rogers was a supervising stationary engineer for the Chicago Park district. They came to California after he retired. They had a daughter, Patricia. Louis Rogers died May 14, 1965 in Escondido. Alura Rogers remained in Escondido until her death on July 4, 1987. Mrs. Rogers’ interest in genealogy led her to become a member of the Escondido Genealogical Society. She was involved with the Women’s Auxiliary for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, her church, Emmanuel Faith Community Church of Escondido, and a camera club.
