Letter to J. Dietrich from Southern Pacific Company Master Mechanic containing details of crew and equipment used on U.S. President William McKinley's train from Redlands Junction to Redlands.
President McKinley took a nation-wide tour of the United States aboard a train in 1901. He travelled on his private car which was attached to a new locomotive whenever he switched railroads. His trip was cut short in May, due to the poor health of Mrs. McKinley.
