Immediate Source of Acquisition
Photographs in boxes 1-7 were a gift of Christian Keesee of the Brett Weston Archive.
Photographs in box 8 were either purchased from the Henderson Gallery in Monterey or from a
gift by Paul Schranz.
This collection includes 269 gelatin silver photographs by Brett Weston taken between
1927-1989. Box 7 is a portfolio of 10 portraits by Brett of his father Edward Weston and the
Weston family. Except for the portraits, all the photographs depict nature and abstractions
of nature and architecture.
The collection adheres to the original order created by the donors.
Brackets are used around devised titles. Titles without brackets come from the Brett Weston
Archive.
