Description
The Colección Chicana Pamphlet File was part of the larger Colección Chicana, located on the first floor of Love Library. The File includes clippings, brochures, pamphlets, reports and newsletters that document topics of interest for the local Chicana/o community as well as its activities. The collection is divided into two series: Subject Files and Newsletters and Newspapers. The Subject Files are arranged alphabetically by subject title and include information about events, services, people, and issues specific to the Chicana/o community. The Newsletters and Newspapers series is arranged alphabetically by publication title and includes local and regional Chicana/o periodicals.
Background
The Colección Chicana Pamphlet File was established as part of the larger Colección Chicana / Chicano Collection, which was transferred from the Centro de Estudios Chicanos to Love Library in 1978. The Collection as a whole was developed to facilitate research in Chicano studies on the SDSU campus and has continued to grow since its transfer. The Pamphlet File contains reports, newsletters, flyers, brochures and pamphlets that document issues, concerns and events within the Chicana/o community.

The copyright interests in these materials have not been transferred to San Diego State University. Copyright resides with the creators of materials contained in the collection or their heirs. The nature of historical archival and manuscript collections is such that copyright status may be difficult or even impossible to determine.  Requests for permission to publish must be submitted to the Head of Special Collections, San Diego State University, Library and Information Access. When granted, permission is given on behalf of Special Collections as the owner of the physical item and is not intended to include or imply permission of the copyright holder(s), which must also be obtained in order to publish.
