Scope and Contents

Collection contains National Vaccine Establishment broadside which reads " ... at a board, holden on the 6th day of October, 1814. Resolved: that there be three classes of vaccinators, namely, stationary, extraordinary, and corresponding ..." Broadside is signed at end: John Latham, President; Henry Ainslie [and 3 others], censors; William Blizard, Master of the Royal College of Surgeons; Henry Cline, William Norris, Governors; James Hervey, registrar. Broadside details duties of vaccinators in London and a call by the board of the National Vaccine Establishment for members of the public to prevent and control the propagation of smallpox.
