Background
Sergio d'Angelo is a former Italian journalist and acquaintance of Boris Pasternak. He worked as an editor and reporter for
Radio Moscow from 1956-1957. On May 20, 1956, after meeting with Pasternak, d'Angelo was given the manuscript for Doctor Zhivago, which was later given to the Italian publisher Feltrinelli for publication.
