Description
This collection contains two correspondence written by Sergeant George L. Sillman, Machine Gun Company, 2nd Washington Infantry, during the First World War.
Background
George L. Sillman was born in Spokane, WA (date unknown) and died in 1940, where he was interred in the Sillman family mausoleum at Greenwood Cemetery in Spokane, WA. Sillman was the uncle of the donor, Mary G. Grammer, and was the brother of Grace E. Sillman, mother of the donor and also one of the letter recipients in the collection.
