Scope and Contents
This collection contains a manuscript and explanatory introduction by Mertice McCrea Buck-Knox entitled "Lieutenant Emory's
Report of the Expedition Down the Gila in the Autumn of 1846" based on Emory's official report of 1848 entitled "Reconnaisance."
Knox's manuscript includes photographs and maps tracing Emory's route. This collection also contains a photocopy of a letter
to the editor written by Buck-Knox, sent to
Touring Topics July 1932, and a folder of obituary clippings and memorials for Buck-Knox from 1953.
