Description
The collection consists of a photograph album compiled by Louis de Ronge, a United States serviceman who was a member of the
Fifth Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army. The majority of photographs were taken around 1916, and document the life and activities
of the Regiment while they were stationed in Nogales, Arizona during the Pancho Villa Expedition of the Mexican Border War
(1910-1919). Images in the collection are mostly captioned by de Ronge, and show various servicemembers, military exercises,
camp conditions, and local sights.
