Documents visiting lecturers and guests, honors awarded to SIO faculty, and research findings. Also includes articles discussing the University of California and its growth, along with some articles discussing the atomic bomb tests at Bikini.

Documents visitors to SIO, various research findings, the dedication of the new aquarium to Director Vaughan, and Dr. Revelle's appointment as the new Director of SIO. Many of the research findings focus on the Mid-Pacific Mountains discovered deep in the Pacific Ocean.
