The collection contains materials related to author Wendell Rickett's writing and activism. Ricketts was born on Wake Island, an atoll in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, and raised in small towns on O’ahu, Hawai’i. His writings about working class queers, politics, education, literature, the performing and visual arts, lesbian and gay family and legal issues, and responses to AIDS in the arts and media have appeared in a variety of publications.
