    Historical Background

    The UCI Libraries Department of Special Collections and Archives launched the UCI Submit Your Story website in 2014 at the start of the campus's 50th anniversary celebration. Dozens of individuals from the UCI community (faculty, staff, students, and community members) contributed their experiences by submitting written texts and photographs. Submissions were accepted until June 2016. The site's web address was http://50th.lib.uci.edu.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    This collection contains memories, anecdotes, and experiences written by current and former staff, faculty, students, and community members for the Submit Your Story website during the UCI 50th anniversary (June 2014-June 2016). The collection contains over 60 submissions documenting a variety of UCI experiences and perspectives. Stories include meeting life long partners and building friendships, participating in campus events and student organizations, classroom and teaching experiences, and reminiscences of notable UCI individuals and programs. In addition, there are 20 digitized photographs of people and the campus.

    Separation Note

    Duplicate submissions were deleted from the access copy version. All orginal source material is preserved in the UCI Special Collections and Archives digital preservation repository.
