Description
Dr. Hendrik S. Houthakker served two years as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers or CEA. These files cover the years of 1969-1971 and include his activities as a senior staff economist on the international task forces; he was chairman of several subcommittees and working groups that dealt with such issues as antitrust policy; the pricing and selling of copper; increases in prices of lumber and plywood; housing construction prices; Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) policy; agricultural trade; oil import control system; economic policy; transportation; and steel prices and cost factors in the U. S. steel industry.
