Description
Clippings, correspondence, manuscripts, publicity, academic papers, political flyers, newssheets, photographs, organizational lists, notes, and college course materials, 1976-1983, documenting the educational and political activities of Don Amador.
Background
Don Amador (1943-1992) served in the U.S. Navy. He was aide to Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, and later he was a candidate for the California State Assembly in 1977, and for the Los Angeles City Council in 1980. Los Angeles Community College professor and gay activist, Amador developed one of the nation's first accredited college courses in gay studies.
