    Abstract: Jack Rugh was a labor relations representative in California's Department of Employment from 1940 until his retirement in 1971. In addition to his work in labor relations, Rugh was a regional coordinator for services to the handicapped. In 1967 Rugh was appointed by Governor Reagan to the Governor's Committee for Employment of the Handicapped. He continued to speak and publish on labor relations, the employment of the handicapped, and the employment of ex-offenders after his retirement. This small collection consists of papers, publications, ephemera, and realia pertaining to Jack Rugh's life and career through the mid-1990s. They are chiefly the records related to his work on employing the handicapped and his work on the California Governor's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped.

    Biographical / Historical

    Jack Rugh was a labor relations representative in California's Department of Employment from 1940 until his retirement in 1971. In addition to his work in labor relations, Rugh was a regional coordinator for services to the handicapped-- a job he continued well after his retirement. In 1967 Rugh was appointed by Governor Reagan to the Governor's Committee for Employment of the Handicapped, a post he held for four years. After Rugh's retirement, he continued to speak and publish on labor relations, the employment of the handicapped, and the employment of ex-offenders.

    This small collection consists of papers, publications, ephemera, and realia pertaining to Jack Rugh's life and career through the mid-1990s. They are chiefly the records related to his work on employing the handicapped and his work on the California Governor's Committee on Employment for the Handicapped.
