Biographical / Historical

Aaron C. Waters was a geologist and educator known for his research on the geology, tectonics, and volcanoes of the Pacific Northwest. Waters was born on May 6, 1905, in Waterville, Washington. He received a B.Sc. in 1926 and an M.Sc. in 1927 both from the University of Washington. He taught and developed programs in earth sciences at Stanford, Johns Hopkins, University of California Santa Barbara, and University of California Santa Cruz. Waters established a program in Earth Sciences at UC Santa Cruz in 1967, and was a founding member of Crown College. Waters died in 1991.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains correspondence, writings, reprints, and other materials that document the research and teaching career of Aaron C. Waters.
