    Biography

    Frank Tuttle was an American director most active in film from the 1920s through 1940s. Prior to directing, he found work as a publicity writer, magazine editor, and screenwriter. He directed more than 60 films released between 1922 and 1959.

    Collection Scope and Content Summary

    The Frank Tuttle papers span the years 1925-1963 (bulk 1935-1962) and encompass 1.7 linear feet. The collection contains scripts; story material; and personal correspondence, primarily numerous handwritten letters between Tuttle and his daughter, Fredrika.
