Scope and Content

Catalogs, order forms, booklists, clippings, press releases, receipts, newsletters, and correspondence documenting the business activity, circa 1971-1990, of Elysian Fields, Booksellers, a largely mail-order gay and lesbian bookseller based in Elmhurst, New York. Operated by George Fisher, also known as Ed Drucker, Elysian Fields specialized in out-of-print gay, lesbian, and bi-sexual literature. The bulk of the collection is composed of mail order booklists and catalogs; also of interest is domestic and international correspondence from customers. A substantial portion of correspondence documents business between Fisher and Jim Kepner, who purchased publications from Elysian Fields and also helped Fisher search for publications sought by customers.

Acquisition Information
