Abstract: Clippings, a sound recording on compact disc, and material from women's liberation groups and gay and lesbian organizations, 1982-2006, collected by lesbian musician, Suzi Nash. Nash was a Philadelphia resident who, in 2005, wrote and recorded an album of children's music for children of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) families, entitled Rainbow Sprinkles.

Biography

Suzi Nash is a lesbian musician and Philadelphia resident who worked in various capacities in children's theater and television, as well as sung for the Latin band, Avila. In the 1990s, Nash worked as an associate producer and performer on the Bozo the Clown show.
In the 2000s, Nash wrote the weekly "Family Portraits" column for the Philadelphia Gay News and also hosted "Twisted Karaoke" nights at Sisters nightclub in Philadelphia. In 2005, Nash wrote and recorded an album of children's music entitled Rainbow Sprinkles, a collection of "children's songs designed to empower children of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender families."

Scope and Content

This collection comprises clippings, a promotional postcard, and a compact disc for Suzi Nash's album, Rainbow Sprinkles, a collection of "children's songs designed to empower children of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender families." The collection also includes clippings, mailers, promotional material, newsletters, a press kit, and other material for a variety of women's liberation and gay and lesbian organizations, mostly in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and the Delaware Valley.

Arrangement

One folder and a compact disc of Suzi Nash's Rainbow Sprinkles is at the beginning of the collection. The remaining folders are arranged alphabetically.
