Gift of Lois Wise in 2012. Attorney certificates were donated in 2013.
Materials Transferred
School yearbooks were transferred to the library's book collection
(Red & White, 1932-1936, 8 volumes;
Polytechnic Journal, 1931-1935, 8 volumes;
Surveyor, 1959-1961, 3 volumes; and
Jaguar, 1957-1958, 3 volumes). The
Polytechnic Parrot newspaper (1933-1934, 31 issues) was transferred to the library's periodicals collection. Photographs were transferred to
the San Francisco Historical Photograph Collection.

Biography
Edwin A. Frediani was a San Francisco attorney and the only child of Arthur and Emma (Borden) Frediani He attended Polytechnic
High School, San Francisco Junior College, and Hastings College of the Law. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He organized the City College Alumni Association in 1949, and presided over the board of the REA in the 1960s. Edwin was married
to Norma (Parent), with whom they had two daughters, Barbara Frediani and Lois (Frediani) Wise. Edwin Frediani died in 1998.
Scope and Contents
This collection documents activities of Edwin A. Frediani, including publicity of the Redwood Empire Association and the founding
of the City College Alumni Association. The REA was formed in the 1920s to promote tourism in nine Northern California and
Southern Oregon coastal counties. Also included are documents of his wife Norma (Parent) Frediani, and their relatives. Materials
include news clippings, school diplomas, and family photographs, as well as sketches by A.D. Mills and Jack Lustig of amateur
golfer, Arthur Frediani, Edwin’s father.
