Description
This collection consists of over 4,000 audio tapes (contact the archives for a full list) dating from 1949 to 2004 and 5 linear feet of papers related to the conferences he taped from 1972 to 1998, as well as papers related to the cassette tape ministry of this era in general. The audio tape collection is especially rich in Robert Whitaker recordings, most taped locally by Brad Parks, and in Derek Prince tapes purchased from that ministry. Other major tape collections are Delores Winder, John Wimber, Terry Fullam and John and Paula Sandford. The papers document the history of charismatic conferences in Southern California from 1972 to 1998.
Background
Bradley Parks was the man Southern California Presbyterian and Episcopalian Charismatics entrusted with the taping of many of their conferences from 1972 to 1998. The Presbyterian Charismatic Communion (PCC) was the first to enlist his services. The joint conferences held by the PCC and the Episcopal Charismatic Fellowship (ECF) were taped by Brad Parks, with the help of his wife Ruth Olive Witcraft Parks, from 1981 until the last such conference in 1993. They also taped the annual conferences of the ECF held at Chapman College in Orange from 1983 to 1994 and the Glendale Healing Conferences, as well as various Healing and Spiritual Warfare Conferences held in the area. They maintained an extensive library of other charismatic tapes which Brad reproduced for church and association members, missionaries and prison inmates.
