    Scope and Contents

    Contains original photographs and posters created by Sacramento-based photographer Francisco J. Dominguez. Includes 35 unframed black-and-white photographs, 1 framed black-and-white photograph, and 13 unframed color posters featuring Dominguez's photography. Dominguez's work alludes to the cultural environment of Chicano history and culture, anti-war movements, indigenous and immigrant rights, and social justice.

    Biography of Francisco Dominguez

    Francisco J. Dominguez is a Sacramento-based photographer, artist, and art educator. His photographs and portraits allude to the cultural environment of Chicano history and culture, anti-war movements, indigenous and immigrant rights, and social justice. Dominguez's work has brought attention to the injustices on the Mexico/US border and the struggles of immigrating or displaced people. Dominguez works primarily with infrared-sensitive film and black-and-white photography. He also creates original posters by incorporating his photographs with other design elements and text. Dominguez has participated in many exhibitions in the Sacramento area and California.
