Abstract: This collection includes materials related to Steven Grossman, the first openly gay recording artist to have a music record
released on a major label. The collection contains Grossman's 1974 album, "Caravan Tonight," on Mercury Records; a 20-minute
videotape (labeled Steven Grossman 1990 Trip); a cassette tape of his 1992 recording produced by Judith Casselberry (of Casselberry-Dupree)
labeled “Anthology”; and one folder of personal and early promotional photographs and obituaries.

This collection includes materials related to Steven Grossman (1951-1991), the first openly gay recording artist to have a
music record released on a major label. The collection contains Grossman's 1974 album, "Caravan Tonight," on Mercury Records;
a 20-minute videotape (labeled Steven Grossman 1990 Trip); a cassette tape of his 1992 recording produced by Judith Casselberry
(of Casselberry-Dupree) labeled “Anthology”; and one folder of personal and early promotional photographs and obituaries.
Grossman died in 1991 of an AIDS-related illness.
