Roland E. Hill was an American art director and set designer most active in film from 1925 to 1953. In
the 1950s he designed buildings for Walt Disney Productions, including the Sleeping Beauty Castle at
Disneyland.
Collection Scope and Content Summary
The Roland E. Hill drawings span the years 1927-1930 and 1948-1953 and encompass 34 artworks. The collection consists of drawings
and/or blueprints for a handful of films from the late 1920s, as well as a few watercolors, such as three of a Western street
set designed by Hill for the Warner Bros. Ranch.
