Abstract: Following the murder of Matthew Shepard, Joseph P. Maliga undertook a project to address the problem of homophobia. For a class he assembled a workbook called "Changing Attitudes: A Project Working Against Homophobia," containing press clippings, government records and letters- and the responses to those letters- he sent to California State and federal Legislators. There is also an MTV-produced CD-ROM and action guide called "fight for your rights: take a stand against violence" (1999) and photos of Pride 1993. The collection also includes materials related to the San Francisco Gay Freedom Marching Band.

The collection also includes materials related to the San Francisco Gay Freedom Marching Band, including photos by Steve Frasheur, ephemera related to the band and the Gay Men's Chorus, a button and a medal; and four audiotapes. There is also a photo of the “Flight of the Fairy” concert (1981) by Frasheur.
