Biographical Note

The photographer was Ruth Everett, daughter of Sylvester T. Everett, a wealthy Cleveland financier, friend of President Garfield and owner of the largest home on Millionaire's Row in Cleveland. Everett also owned homes in Penrose, North Carolina (Blue Ridge Mountains) and Santa Barbara, California.

Scope and Content

Photograph album containing 79 pages of over 350 snapshots taken in the early 1900s. There are no dates listed anywhere but photographs appear to be from 1912-1920 based on the fashions and automobiles. Included in the collection are views of "First House on Crocker Row"; "Flying A Studio, where our movies come from"; "Mr. Ripley's, President of Santa Fe RR's house"; "The Gamble School"; "Mr. Canfield's house at Del Mar"; "Stratford Inn, Del Mar"; "Damage by flood downtown"; "St Anthony's College"; "Our auto trip going up the San Marcus [Marcos] Pass"; and, "Road winding among rocks".
