    Historical Note

    The Associated Students of UCLA (ASUCLA) at the University of California, Los Angeles were founded in 1919. The organization focused on student government, student publications, and student services such as a bookstore and cafeteria. Today, the ASUCLA has evolved into a four-part organization comprised of the Undergraduate Students Association (USAC, the elected representatives of 23,000 undergraduate students), the Graduate Students Association (GSA, provides a voice in campus affairs for the almost 11,000 graduate students enrolled at UCLA), Student Media at UCLA (includes the Daily Bruin, UCLA Radio.com, the Bruin Life Yearbook, and newsmagazines including : Fem, La Gente, Nommo, Ha'Am, Pacific Ties, Al-Talib, OutWrite and many others), and Services & Enterprises (designed to meet the everyday needs of students and the campus community; includes major divisions such as the Student Union, Event Services, UCLA Restaurants, UCLA Store, UCLA Photography, and Trademarks & Licensing). The ASUCLA envisions its role as the center of campus collaboration, connection, and service to enrich the experience of the entire UCLA community.

    Record Series 111 contains publications generated by the Associated Students of UCLA (ASUCLA) at the University of California, Los Angeles. Files include announcements, guides, published course evaluations, brochures, magazines, calendars, flyers, programs, newsletters, song books, directories, handbooks, catalogs, and other publications relating to student life at UCLA.
