Biography/Organization History
Byrd Weyler Kellogg (Apr. 9, 1881-July 3, 1964) was a Sonoma County writer and editor of the society pages in the Santa Rosa
Press Democrat. Her hometown newspaper, the Emporia (Kansas) Gazette, published her obituary on July 4, 1964:
EMPORIAN'S SISTER DIES
Miss Beulah Weyler, 601 Cottonwood St., has received news of the death Friday morning of her sister, Mrs. Charles Kellogg,
Santa Rosa, Calif., the former Miss Byrd Weyler of Emporia. She died in Palo Alto, Calif., where her son, Lyman Beecher Kellogg
lives. Mrs. Kellogg, who was born and reared in Emporia, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Weyler. She was preceded
in death by her husband, who was the son of the late Lyman B. Kellogg, first president of the Kansas Normal School, now Emporia
State College, and by one brother, John Weyler. She is survived by her son four brothers, Vice Admiral George Weyler, Coronado,
Calif.; Leo G. and W. W. Weyler, Topeka, and Lawrence Weyler, Belle Fourche, S. D., and two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Waring, Salina,
and Miss Weyler. (source:
