Paul and Margaret Schneider were television writers who wrote singly and collaboratively. The bulk of the collection represents
a variety of television productions such as Bonanza, Macus Welby M.D., and Star Trek, among many others. Additionally, there
are documents documenting motion picture, radio, and theatre projects.
At the time this finding aid was created, there was little biographical information available about either Paul or Margaret
Schneider. Born in New Jersey, August 4 1923, Paul Schneider graduated from Harvard University with his BA in 1945. He married
Margaret Perrin on April 10, 1950 and worked as a freelance writer until being hired by Universal City Studios in 1967, a
position he retained until 1974. At that time, Paul was hired as a head writer for the show Love of Life with CBS Studios. Schneider's credits include the films The Looters and Ride the Whirlwind, the television programs Star Trek, Bonanza and Marcus Welby, M.D. and the plays Acrimonious and Effigy. Paul Schneider died in October, 2008.
