Biographical/Historical note
Jimmie R. Yee (1934- ) was born in Sacramento, California to Charles "Sam" Yee and Bau Jung Lee. After high school, he attended
UC Berkeley and, in 1956, he received a BA in Civil Engineering. After college, he entered the Army Reserves. Approximately
ten years later, he was discharged and Yee started his own engineering firm in Sacramento known as "Cole/Yee/Schubert and
Associates". In 1974, he was appointed to the Sacramento Civil Service Board, and in 1988 he was appointed to the Sacramento
City Planning Commission.
After the death of Joe Serna, Jr., Jimmie Yee briefly served in the mayoral office from 1999-2000 until the election of Heather
Fargo.

The Jimmie R. Yee collection was donated to CSUS by Jimmie R. Yee in 2014.
