In 1919 the Stockton Business & Professional Women's Club was
created by a group of women who organized the club for social welfare and
educational work. The first president was Helen Coman-Brown, formerly a member
of the Portland, Oregon Business & Professional Women's Club. In 1921 the
Club joined the State Federation.
