Edward B. Hubbard was a First Lieut. in the Twenty-Fifth Independent Battery Light Artillery. This battery was organized from
the enlisted men of the 2nd Ohio Cavalry at Crane Creek, Mo. on Feb. 17, 1863, to serve for three years. During the summer
of 1863 it was engaged in various expeditions in Missouri and Arkansas, took part in the Battle of Brownsville, Ark., and
was frequently engaged until it entered Little Rock in September, 1863. It remained in Arkansas until the end of the war,
when it was ordered to Camp Chase, Ohio, and mustered out on Dec. 12, 1865.
Hubbard later served at forts in the Arizona Territory, the Presidio in San Francisco, and postings in North and South Carolina.
