Letter of recommendation for Joseph Mies written by Samuel B. Reed, Union Pacific Railroad General Superintendent of Construction,
May 25, 1869. Mies "Put up all the water tanks on the Union Pacific Railroad from Omaha to the Western Terminus," Union
Pacific Rail Road Monthly Laborers' Pay-Roll, not dated. With signature of Joseph, Peter and Lissie Mies. Photostat of payroll
which also contains copies of photographs of the Mies family. Affadavit of William E. Mies attesting he may be the last living
person at the May 10, 1869 completion of the Transcontinental Railroad, October 1, 1936. Photostats of all documents which
also includes 4 photographs of the Mies family.
