Description
The Berkeley Garden Club records document the activities of the club since its founding in 1932. Included in the collection
are minutes of meetings, rosters, information on classes offered by the Club over the years and numerous photographs of members
and events organized by the Club.
Background
The Berkeley Garden Club was founded in 1932 as an association of mostly amateur gardeners. Members share gardening experiences
and study Bay Area horticulture at monthly meetings. The Club's stated objective is "to stimulate the knowledge and love of
gardening among amateurs; to aid in the protection of native flora and fauna; and to encourage civic plantings."
