The collection contains documents and photographs related to Bishop Charles Francis Buddy and the Catholic church. The majority of the documents are sermons given by Bishop Buddy. Photographs are primarily of Bishop Buddy and signed photographs given to Bishop Buddy.

Charles Francis Buddy (1887-1966) served as the first Bishop of San Diego from 1936 to 1966. He and Mother Rosalie Hill founded the San Diego College for Women and the University of San Diego College for Men, which later became the University of San Diego.
