    Biography/Administrative History

    Originally separate companies, Intertype Corporation and Harris-Seybold merged in 1957 to become the Harris-Intertype Corporation. Collectively they produced a variety of presses, paper cutters, and typecasting machines, and slowly merged into IT and defense contract work.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    The collection includes manuals for a variety of Harris-Seybold machines, including offset presses, stock control, hydrodrills, folding machines, roll dampeners, stitchers, cutters, and trimmers. Many manuals are for very specific models, and most are unnumbered. There are also a few brochures, advertisements, and pieces of sales information ephemera.
