Ellen Lewis is a New York-based casting director active in film since the mid-1980s. She began her career after being introduced to casting director Juliet Taylor. Lewis has worked with director Martin Scorsese on more than a dozen films.
The Ellen Lewis casting notebooks span the years 1980-2004 (bulk 1990s) and encompass 3 linear feet. The notebooks contain casting materials for a dozen feature films cast by Lewis and directed by Penny Marshall, Mike Nichols, Sydney Pollack, and others and include availability lists, cast lists, character breakdowns, schedules, and other related production material. Films directed by Martin Scorsese are not represented.
