At the time this finding aid was created there was limited biographical information available about J.D. Lobue. Lobue is best
known for directing television situational comedies including
The Fanelli Boys,
Hail to the Chief,
Herman's Head,
It's A Living, Newhart, and
Soap.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of television scripts related to the career of television director, J.D. Lobue. Included are one hundred-plus
scripts for television situation comedies such as
Hail to the Chief,
Herman's Head,
It's A Living,
Mama's Boy, and
Soap, among others. The writings also document the careers of writers Paul Junger Witt, Susan Harris, Mark Stu Silver, Tony Thomas,
and Tom Whedon, and others.
