The Research Institute on Communist Strategy and Propaganda was created in the fall of 1961 and was part of USC's von KleidSmid
Center for International and Public Affairs. The Institute's director, Dr. Rodger Swearingen also served as the host for the
television program, Communism: myth vs reality (1962). The program was aired by CBS-KNXT Hollywood.
