Abstract: Jordy Tackitt-Jones, who publishes as Jordy Jones as well as JoJo Mendoco and DrJ2, is a transgender scholar, curator, artist,
and activist. The collection contains materials related to Jones’ personal and political life, including papers, t-shirts,
news clippings, publications, artifacts, and photographs.

Collection is open for research. The red scrapbook is open for research, but photography or reproduction of the material is
restricted for 30 years from the date of donation (expires October 8, 2049).
Copyright to material has been transferred to the GLBT Historical Society. All requests for reproductions and/or permission

The collection was donated to the GLBT Historical Society by Jordy Tackitt-Jones in 2003, with an addition in 2019.
Biography/Administrative History
Jordy Tackitt-Jones, who publishes as Jordy Jones as well as JoJo Mendoco and DrJ2, is a transgender scholar, curator, artist,
and activist with a Ph.D. in visual studies. He is the author of a biography of Alan Selby, The Mayor of Folsom Street.
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection contains materials related to Jordy Jones’ personal and political life, including papers, t-shirts, news clippings,
publications, artifacts, and photographs. Papers include committee materials for the Transgender Civil Rights Implementation
Task Force, which was successful in passing a plan to cover health benefits for transgender city employees, as well as materials
from the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and the Transgender Political Caucus. There are also a number of fliers designed
by Jones or pertaining to events he attended, published and unpublished writings, and his papers from graduate and undergraduate
study. His multimedia art is represented by various audio tapes as well as sculptural pieces, including T Ball (a sculpture
made of testosterone syringes), clothing, signs, posters, modified food labels, and materials concerning exhibits in which
Jones participated. A large red scrapbook includes photographs and clippings; the scrapbook documents Jones' family, friends,
