    Biographical / Historical

    arriet Rohmer is the founder, publisher, and executive Director of Children's Book Press in San Francisco, California, the pioneering non-profit press devoted to publishing multicultural and bilingual literature for children. Her creative vision has shaped the development of more than sixty critically acclaimed books, including Just Like Me: Stories and Self-Portraits by Fourteen Artists. Rohmer lives in San Francisco, California. When Children’s Book Press was started by Harriet Rohmer in 1975, she stated “my dream was for all children to be able to open a book and see themselves.”
