Abstract: Photograph album containing 71 black and white photographs accompanied by titles and captions documenting the two week trek through Kings River Canyon by the Sierra Club, August 16-31, 1930. Also included is a copy of "This is Santa Fe" by Charles Haines Comfort and Mary Apolline Comfort. Mary Apolline Comfort is presumed to be the creator of the photograph album (a photograph of her is the last one in the album). The group consisted of approximately 26 individuals, both men and women. Each photograph is captioned with many individuals identified by first names, and interspersed with Mary's observations about the various locations.

Content Description

Photograph album containing 71 black and white photographs accompanied by titles and captions documenting the two week trek through Kings River Canyon by the Sierra Club, August 16-31, 1930. Also included is a copy of "This is Santa Fe" by Charles Haines Comfort and Mary Apolline Comfort. Mary Apolline Comfort is presumed to be the creator of the photograph album (a photograph of her is the last one in the album). The group consisted of approximately 26 individuals, both men and women, who traveled from Los Angeles to Independence, California, and then made their way through Gray's Meadow, Onion Valley, Vidette Meadows, Kearsage Pass, Junction Meadows, Paradise Valley, Twin Lakes, Pinchot Pass, Bench Lake, Twin Lakes, Rae Lakes, Bullfrog Lake, and back to Onion Valley. Each photograph is captioned with many individuals identified by first names, and interspersed with Mary's observations about the various locations.
